Scope of Work
Downe House Muscat is an institutional building project located in Muscat, Oman. The project was carried out for Bayan Al Bandar (LLC). The building spans approximately 17,500 sqm, and is one of the larger projects in which Daan Shaaban has participated in Muscat. Careful planning was required as a great deal of different types of work related to it,and had to be converted not only in terms of the building's construction, but also in terms of the finishing work inside the building. This included building the structure from the foundation, installing quality finishes, and completing all the EMP (mechanical, electrical, and air-conditioning) work. A significant amount of work was completed outside the building, including roads, walkways and landscaping which will make the whole area usable.
Our Role
Daan Shaaban kept a careful eye on the expenditure throughout the entire project and alerted us to any money that seemed to be going too quickly. We created easy record keeping for each task, and builders and suppliers knew what was expected of them. We also performed checks on the work throughout the journey and not just at the end, allowing us to identify small issues early. Where disputes did arise, we had the knowledge of contracts and claims to help the client to make informed decisions.
Result
The Delivered Downe House Muscat is now a fully-working building, with a clear, consistent contract and cost management system from start to finish. This type of practical assistance is essential for keeping big projects on track and on budget in Oman.
