The GCC Building is an office building project in Al Khuwair, Muscat. It was designed for the Consulting Commission GCC and involved the building of a modern office facility housing a number of important building systems. The major construction activities are the RCC structure and Block works. RCC stands for reinforced cement concrete, and it is used to make the durable part of the building that holds it up. The block work is also one of the main components in the construction because it is used to make the walls and other spaces within the building. This project also features excellent finishings that ensure the building looks clean and professional, and makes the office spaces ready for use with a complete lighting system to provide proper lighting throughout the office, plumbing system which furnish the water and drainage needs. There is also an HVAC system to regulate the temperature and air flow within the building. A security system is also part of the project, which will help to create a safe and secure working environment.
Daan Shaaban handled the budget and paperwork for all aspects of this project, including the structure, electrical systems and security installation. We ensured that every component of the work was well-defined as far as pricing and instructions are concerned, which helped eliminate confusion about the responsibility of the various trades. We also maintained records of payment and changes, and prior to the handing over of the building, checked the completed systems.
The GCC Building has now become a fully functional well-equipped office in Al Khuwair. It demonstrates the importance of cost control in numerous systems to ensure that a building project stays on track and within budget.
